Music video: The Black Eyed Peas – “Just Can’t Get Enough”

Here’s the latest music video from The Black Eyed Peas. This is the second clip off the Peas’ record The Beginning; it follows the video for “The Time (Dirty Bit).” Interestingly, this video was shot in Japan one week before the earthquake and tsunami took place there. The Peas made sure to regard the matter in the opening and closing of the video. Before it starts a message reads, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Japan. We love you.” At the end it advises viewers to text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to support relief efforts.

Fergie explains what the video is about but her words–like the video–get lost in the disaster that occurred. “It was the easiest video I ever shot because it was us living our lives. I love that it’s showing a true perspective of how it can sometimes be lonely on the road away from our loved ones. It also demonstrates the love and connection we have with Japan.  Our heart goes out to all of the Japanese people who have been affected by this natural disaster.”

Black Eyed Peas’ ‘The Beginning’ out now

Support the Peas a pick up a copy of their latest album The Beginning.  iTunes offers three versions: the standard CD, a deluxe version that includes three bonus tracks, and that same deluxe version with five popular songs from The E.N.D. You can purchase a physical copy of the deluxe version at Amazon.  I can’t get over how cool that album art is!  All pixelated like that, the Peas never looked better.

Black Eyed Peas will rock the Super Bowl halftime show into the future

BEP’s frontman will.i.am confirmed to Rolling Stone that rock-and-roll/future-flow group will perform live at Super Bowl XLV during the halftime show.  “They could have picked anybody…but it says something that they picked us,” will told the magazine.  Not only is this good promotion for the group (The Beginning releases November 30 and a worldwide tour is planned), but it also means I’ll have a reason to tune into the halftime show this year!  Super Bowl XLV will be played in Dallas, Texas on February 6, 2011.

Music video: The Black Eyed Peas – “The Time (Dirty Bit)”

The official music video for the first single off The Black Eyed Peas’ next album is now available for our viewing pleasure.  The video for “The Time (Dirty Bit)” continues the 8-bit theme streak by featuring will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie morphing in and out of pixelated form.  If you’re a fellow technologically savvy nerd like me (admit it and be proud!), I’m sure you will catch the BlackBerry Playbook make a number of brief appearences in the video.  Each member of the Peas holds up the unreleased tablet and focuses it on their respective pixelated doppelgangers to reveal animated versions of themselves roaming in the real world–much like a QR code-assisted augmented reality app would accomplish.  Anyway, enjoy the music video to this thumping single.  The Beginning drops November 30.

Single: The Black Eyed Peas – “Do It Like This”

“Do It Like This” follows “The Time (The Dirty Bit)” to become the second single off The Black Eyed Peas’ forthcoming album The Beginning.  It’s another thumping dance anthem you should enjoy.  I’m sorta bummed that the Peas have failed to produce a radio smash single this time around; in my opinion the two released singles do not live up to the catchy chart-topping hits “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling” of yesteryear.  At least we can look forward to the album releasing soon, so we should wait before making any rash judgments.  There’s bound to be a money-maker somewhere on the album.  The Beginning drops November 30.  Look after the break to watch a fun music video preview of “Do It Like This”; it features the Peas in 8-bit style, the rad theme of the album.

Single: The Black Eyed Peas – “The Time (The Dirty Bit)”

The Peas are pumped to unleash the follow-up to their 2008 hit album The E.N.D. The new record is appropriately titled The Beginning and it drops November 30.  Says frontman will.i.am: The Beginning is our departure to the new…always pushing new sounds and technology…I can’t wait till you experience all that we have been cooking up…”

Can’t wait that long for new BEP music, huh?  Well here’s a treat!  Take a listen to their brand new single called “The Time (The Dirty Bit)”.  The song covers the Dirty Dancing hit “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” originally recorded by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes in 1987.  And you know its got that signature BEP electro hip-hop headbanger twist to it.  Will it resonate with fans, radio listeners, and party-goers as loud as “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling”?  I don’t think it’s as catchy as those two, but nothing will keep this new single from quickly becoming a chart-topper.  A music video has already been made to accompany the single and it should drop sometime soon.

James Cameron’s next 3D project? The Black Eyed Peas

Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am revealed in an interview with Vibe that the eccelctic group will be filming a movie in 3D with Avatar director James Cameron at the helm.  According to Will the movie will follow the band on tour across the world and it will have a storyline that he describes as “dope.”  He humbly says, “We have the biggest director, because we are the biggest group on the planet.”  Cameron has yet to comment on the project.  It’s slated to release sometime early next year.  Having seen the U2 in 3D movie back in 2008, I can say I’m stoked to see what Cameron and the Peas can put together.  I was highly impressed with the U2 movie (it introduced a sense of realism and coupled with the impressive surround sound it felt like you were in the crowd).  Cameron is the 3D king right now, and the Peas are constantly pushing the envelope with sound and visuals.  If anyone’s going to make a 3D film based on a current band, these are the players to make it happen.
