Lupe’s baaaack. After dropping two singles off his upcoming album Lasers rapper Lupe Fiasco made a music video for one of ’em. And it’s a really fun video, so check it out. Lasers is expected to release sometime this year, but in the meantime take a listen to “I’m Beamin” and the other single “Shining Down” (featuring Matthew Santos).

Single: Drake – “Find Your Love”
“Find Your Love” is the second single off Drake’s upcoming debut album Thank Me Later, due out June 15. It’s no surprise that Kanye West produced the track. His fingerprints can be found all over it; the heavy melodic beat takes cues from many of West’s hits off 808’s & Heartbreak. Drake shared some kind words about Ye with MTV News:
“Before I ever got the chance to meet him, Kanye West shaped a lot of what I do, as far as music goes. We always, always, always took the time to listen to Kanye’s music and appreciate it beyond. We searched the samples and find out where his inspiration came from, because he has one of the best ears in music, period. He knows how to recognize great music that’s not his. He knows how to utilize great sounds and great music. So before I met him, I had the utmost respect for Kanye West. I’d even go as far as to say he’s the most influential person, as far as a musician, that I’d ever had in my life.”
This single is Drake’s third collab with West. Previously they worked together on “Forever” (along with Lil Wayne & Eminem) and West directed Drake’s first music video for “Best I Ever Had.” Drake just wrapped up the music video for “Find Your Love” in Jamaica, so be on the look out for that.
But for now, take a listen to the track below and download it here. (It looks like the download link was taken down due to bandwith issues. It should be back soon.) Drake straight up sings in this one, about relationships. He calls it “an extremely vulnerable song” and a “huge risk” because “it almost feels like the song should be performed by a woman. I’m just hoping that men really hear the song and they’re honest with themselves. I know a lot of men feel that way.” After a first listen I’m not hooked yet. But then again, I felt the same way with “Over” and now that’s one of my top played songs.

Music video: Snoop Dogg – “That Tree” (Featuring Kid Cudi)
We’ve heard the song. Now here’s the music video. “That Tree” (Featuring Kid Cudi) comes straight off Snoop’s latest album More Malice. The music video is pretty slick (with the cut-out animations) and the song is mighty catchy. Good collab.

Music video: Drake – “Over”
Here’s the music video for “Over”, the first single off Drake’s forthcoming album Thank Me Later. It’s directed by Anthony Mandler. This music video is starkly different from the Kanye West-directed video for “Best I Ever Had”, but that’s not necesssarily a bad thing. No, you won’t find scantily clad, well-endowed women jumping up and down. For most of the video Drake is in a bedroom with chaotic projected images flashing over him and the walls. It’s enough to keep you hooked for four minutes, so check it out. If you like the track, download it here for free. Thank Me Later hits stores June 15.

Music video: Aloe Blacc – “I Need A Dollar”
Aloe Blacc just put out a music video for “I Need A Dollar,” the catchy tune I discovered watching the opening credits of HBO’s How To Make It In America. This track is the first single off Blacc’s debut album Good Things, due out this summer. The music video splits the screen in half; one side follows a hustler walking the city streets and the other features Blacc singing. At 2:35 the video begins to play a part of his second single titled “Take Me Back.” He’s got a great old-school soul sound, something that’s missing in mainstream music today. I’m really looking forward to the album.
Music video: Owl City – “Vanilla Twilight”
“Vanilla Twilight” is the second single off Adam Young’s second album Ocean Eyes. It follows the chart-topping “Fireflies” I’m sure you’ve been inundated with on the radio. But do yourself a favor and download the entire album, it’s pure ear candy. This music video finds Young back on his synthesizer and features a bunch of people staring up into a beautiful sky, dropping everything they are doing and watching the swirling, colorful clouds in wonder. Many speculate it’s symbolic of the rapture, or some sort of salvational revival. Can’t help but smile in awe along with them. (Why, hello Shaq.)
Music video: Diane Birch – “Valentino” (Super cool augmented reality!)
Watch this music video for Diane Birch’s catchy tune “Valenino,” a single off her debut album Bible Belt. It features some old-school augmented reality tricks. It all looks easy at first glance, but there is much choreography that had to be memorized and performed to perfection in order to pull everything off. Just look after the break for a behind-the-scenes video that reveals all the magic and see what I mean.

SNL Digital Short: The Lonely Island – “Boombox”
The Loney Island is back with their latest music video off their debut album Incredibad. “Boombox” adds to a growing list of SNL Digital Shorts that have been made featuing songs off the album; they include “Lazy Sunday,” “Dick in a Box,” “Natalie’s Rap,” “We Like Sportz,” “Ras Trent,” “Space Olympics,” “Jizz In My Pants,” “I’m On a Boat,” and “Like a Boss.” The Dudes (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone) have made another hilarious video for another great song. “Boombox” features vocals from The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas and is directed by Kiv. Having listened to it many times, this video totally lived up to my imagination.
Music video: Rihanna – “Disturbia” (live performance)
Check out this live performance of Rihanna’s “Disturbia.” It was recorded for AOL Sessions. It’s worth a listen because Rihanna puts a different spin on the song; it’s slower and softer than the original rendition. And I like it.

Music video: Kid Cudi – “Pursuit of Happiness” (Featuring MGMT & Ratatat) [Alternate Version]
This here is an alternate version of the music video for Kid Cudi’s breakout single “Pursuit of Happiness.” In my opinion this video is far superior to the original version. It takes Cudder’s concept of dream sequences he raps about throughout Man on the Moon and runs with it, using tricky camera angles and trippy characters, costumes, and settings. Oh, and guitarist Ratatat actually makes an appearence in this one during his solo. Good stuff.
Single: T.I. – “I’m Back”
T.I. is just a few weeks away from being released from jail and already he’s got a new single out appropriately titled “I’m Back.” This is the first single off his upcoming seventh studio album, yet to be titled, set to release on August 24. Take a listen below and download the track. Whatcha think?

Single: Drake – “Over”
He’s released mixtapes, been featured on many songs, and dropped a seven-track EP called So Far Gone and Drake still hasn’t “officially” made it to the big leagues yet with a debut album under his belt. Time are a-changin’, and Drake is ready to start his rise to (higher) fame in the music biz. Late last night Drake posted the first single off his debut album Thank Me Later. It’s called “Over” and it’s quite good. It doesn’t compare to the Wayne-Kanye-Eminem featured “Forever” behemoth of a track, but it’s definitely worth a listen (below) and a spot on your playlist (download it for free). There’s more where this came from; Thank Me Later is due out in May.
