Bill Hader & company do a fantastic job at poking fun at the world’s most incredulous commercial for “weights.” SNL is a little late to the game with this one, but at least they got it right. Oh, it’s real.

The Loney Island is back with their latest music video off their debut album Incredibad. “Boombox” adds to a growing list of SNL Digital Shorts that have been made featuing songs off the album; they include “Lazy Sunday,” “Dick in a Box,” “Natalie’s Rap,” “We Like Sportz,” “Ras Trent,” “Space Olympics,” “Jizz In My Pants,” “I’m On a Boat,” and “Like a Boss.” The Dudes (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer & Jorma Taccone) have made another hilarious video for another great song. “Boombox” features vocals from The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas and is directed by Kiv. Having listened to it many times, this video totally lived up to my imagination.
During last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, SNL star Andy Samberg surprised guests when he popped out from behind guest (and former SNL cast member) Chris Parnell to perform their classic SNL Digital Short “Lazy Sunday” live, for the first time ever. Enjoy.
Why is it a must watch? Because this video brings together some of the funniest people on Earth, reuniting old and current SNL members in the perfect way–a presidential reunion! You’ll see the likes of Fred Armisen (Barack Obama), Maya Rudolph (Michelle Obama), Will Ferrell (George W. Bush), Darrell Hammond (Bill Clinton), Dana Carvey (Bush Sr.), Jim Carrey (Ronald Reagan), Dan Akroyd (Jimmy Carter), and Chevy Chase (Gerald Ford) perform the presidents they all became famous for portraying so spot on during their stay at SNL. They all offer advice to Obama on how to fix Washington and the problems they left behind. Fun fact: This (highly viral) video hit one million views in less than 24 hours; quite the feat if you ask me. Watcha doin’ still reading this? Watch ’till your stomach hurts!
That’s right. The infamous MacGyver spoof sketch from Saturday Night Live is coming to the silver screen. MacGruber stars SNL’s Will Forte, Kristin Wiig, Bill Hader, and Maya Randolph along with Val Kilmer, Ryan Phillippe, Powers Boothe, and Rhys Coiro. It’s written by Will Forte, John Soloman, and Jorma Taccone. Taccone, a member of Andy Samberg’s Lonely Island crew, also directs the film. MacGruber is due out in theatres April 23, 2010. Embedded above is the red band trailer; look after the break for the standard trailer which is slightly different.
Another classic…
JUST THROW IT ON THE GROUND. Directed by Jorma Taccone. The latest SNL Digital Short rocks.
In somewhat related news, it has been reported that Andy Samberg was contacted to host WWE’s RAW. The wrestling show will take place on October 26 in Buffalo. Although this has not been made official, Samberg has stated that a future SNL Digital Short will include “WWE superstars.” Looking forward to it.

With host MEGAN FOX and musical guest U2. It’s going to be a great show.
“Andy Samberg doesn’t understand how animation works. But that doesn’t stop him from giving behind-the-scenes misinformation on “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.”
Ah, Andy at his best. Looking forward to “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,” in theatres September 18 and Saturday Night Live, which premieres September 26.

Michaela Watkins and Casey Wilson were newcomers to Saturday Night Live. Their comedy potential was just rising as they were axed from the show by creator Lorne Michaels yesterday. Watkins will be remembered for her “bitch, pleeeeze” character, Kathy Lee’s counterpart Hoda Kotb, and her spot on portrayal of Barbara Walters. Wilson’s Cougar Den sketches and celebrity impressions will also missed from the show.
In related news, Abbey Elliot will remain on the show, and two new cast members have been added to arsenal: Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad (see below).

Life and Style picked up the scoop from “an insider close to the star” that Megan Fox will be the host of the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. The source says, “Megan is psyched to have gotten this opportunity. She has a lot of surprises in store for the audience. This is the perfect opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills, as she’s launching her new movie Jennifer’s Body [on Sept. 18].” The source also hinted that she will star alongside funnyman Andy Samberg in the season’s first SNL Digital Short. I am so excited, I cannot wait for–…and I just jizzed in my pants. Be sure to catch the 34th season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 26 on NBC.
