L.A.R.P. stands for Live Avatar Role Playing; are these people for real?
This bizzare video features Hometree, Wisconsin natives dressed up as the blue alien humanoids from Avatar. What started out as a viral video claiming to be the real deal has finally been labeled a parody by a majority of viewers. Fun to watch nonetheless. Fake or real, this “community of Avatars” totally reminds me of Augie’s medieval live action role playing game “LAIRE” from Role Models.

“Badder Romance” shot-by-shot re-creation impresses Gaga
Rabbid Lady Gaga fans and YouTubers BINKproductionz created this shot-by-shot re-creation of Lady Gaga’s hit “Bad Romance.” The parody is so true to the actual music video that Lady Gaga watched it and was so impressed by it that she shared it with all her fans via her Twitter page. Her response? “Holy s—.”
Warning: Many explicitives are used at the end of this video.

Listen: “How Rorschach Stole Christmas”
Listen to this version of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, as told by Rorschach (from the Watchmen comics). The script was written by Comics & Cartoons, a 4chan community. Even if you haven’t read the comics or seen the movie it’s definitely worth ten minutes of your time. From the blatantly mature content to the imitation of Rorschach, this retelling of a Dr. Seuss classic is hilarious in its own special way. Now if only it were illustrated…ahh–just use your imagination!

Trailer: Family Guy takes on Stars Wars (again!)
Family Guy has already parodied Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope with “Blue Harvest.” MacFarland and company are back at it again, this time spoofing Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back with “Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side.” It releases on DVD and Blu-Ray on December 22 on FOX.
DESCRIPTION: “The saga continues as Luke (Chris), Leia (Lois), Han Solo (Peter) and Chewbacca (Brian) have evaded the dreaded Imperial Starfleet led by the cunning, conniving and curiously short evil lord Darth Vader (Stewie), setting up a new secret base on the remote ice world of Hoth. With the rebellion in trouble, young Skywalker must take the advice of his late, and rather lascivious, mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi (Herbert) and learn the ways of the farce under Jedi Master Yoda (Carl) to save the galaxy once and for all.”
MS creates Windows 7 Launch Party ad; the parody makes it worthwhile
With the release of Windows 7 just around the corner (October 22), Microsoft has created an instructional video about how to make the perfect launch party to celebrate the new operating system. It is so lame it’s kinda funny. (Can you say awkward actors interacting in the most awkward of ways?) It is a six minute video, and you should not watch it in it’s entirety. However, you should at least scrub through it. Why, you ask? YouTube user “cabel” has created a parody of the video, and it is funny, in the inappropriate kind of way. So funny, in fact, that it makes the effort of the Microsoft advertisers who made the original worthwhile! Check out the parody video after the break.
