Music video: Jay-Z – “Young Forever” (Featuring Mr Hudson)

This is the second music video off Jay-Z’s latest album, The Blueprint 3.  It follows “Empire State of Mind” featuring Alicia Keys.  In case you missed that one it’s posted after the break.  Looks like Jay-Z is stuck with the black-and-white scheme for the album’s videos.  Scratch that, how could I forget about “Run This Town?”  It works, so no complaints.  Snag a copy of TB3 if you haven’t already; it’s worth it.  “On to the Next One” premieres next on New Year’s Eve (w/ Carson Daily, NBC).

Music video: OK Go: “WTF”

OK Go is jumping off the treadmill and into a strange new world with their lastest video titled, “WTF.”  It uses the same “datamashing” or compression artifact technology used in Kanye West’s “Welcome to Heartbreak” music video.  OK Go is expected to drop their next album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, this January.  “WTF” is available as a single on iTunes.

Sure, I’ve already posted the music video to Shakira’s “Did It Again” when it first came out.  But here’s a new version featuring Kid Cudi in the remix.  And look at it this way: this just gives you a reason to watch Shakira shake her hips and jump around on a bed again.  Win-win.

Discover new music: kent – “Töntarna”

kent hails from the great land of Sweden.  There they are a very popular alternative rock group.  They’ve actually been around since the 90’s, but with their latest turn to indie electro-pop things are starting to heat up again for this eclectic group.  EW compares them to the “likes of MGMT, Friendly Fires, Phoenix” with an electro-pop flair, and I couldn’t agree more.  “Töntarna” is the first single off their forthcoming album tited Röd.  It’s available for preorder at Amazon.  Check ’em out!
