We have a name people. Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel sequel is now officially called Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Famous DC characters such as Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), and Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons) will be featured in the film that no doubt is laying the groundwork for a future Justice League film that will bring together many DC superheroes and villains much like Marvel’s already done with The Avengers and the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. Peter Jackson’s ‘Hobbit’ threequel gets a new title
There And Back Again is no more. In a Facebook post director Peter Jackson announced that the third and final movie in The Hobbit trilogy will now be named The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The change makes sense, according to Jackson.
Our journey to make The Hobbit Trilogy has been in some ways like Bilbo’s own, with hidden paths revealing their secrets to us as we’ve gone along. “There and Back Again” felt like the right name for the second of a two film telling of the quest to reclaim Erebor, when Bilbo’s arrival there, and departure, were both contained within the second film. But with three movies, it suddenly felt misplaced—after all, Bilbo has already arrived “there” in the “Desolation of Smaug”…And so: “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” it is.
The old title may not completely bite the dust, however. “As Professor Tolkien intended, “There and Back Again” encompasses Bilbo’s entire adventure, so don’t be surprised if you see it used on a future box-set of all three movies.”
And speaking of home releases, Jackson says he and his team are tirelessly working on the Extended Cut of The Desolation of Smaug coming later this year which includes 25 minutes of new scenes all scored with original music by composer Howard Shore.
Read Jackson’s post in full after the break, and look forward to The Battle of Five Armies set for release into theatres on December 17, 2014.

The fourth ‘Jurassic Park’ movie named ‘Jurassic World’ coming in 2015
Ten years after the original Jurassic Park stormed into theatres we are talking about a fourth movie being added to the franchise. Famed director Steven Spielberg, who helmed Jurassic Park (1997) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1993), will serve as producer on Jurassic World with Colin Trevorrow calling the shots and Derek Connolly penning the script. This marks the second time Trevorrow and Connolly teaming up to make a movie; previously they collaborated on the critically acclaimed Safety Not Guaranteed. Plot details are non-existent at this point, but if the newly announced title says anything it’s that the dinos will be back on a much larger scale.
Universal Pictures pegs Jurassic World with a June 12, 2015 release date. And yes, it’ll be in eye-popping 3D.
The next Batman movie is called…
The Dark Knight Rises. Got a nice ring to it, yeah? In an interview with the LA Times, director Christopher Nolan revealed the film’s title and also checked off a potential (and oft-rumored) villain. “It won’t be the Riddler,” he said. So let the speculation continue! In addition, Nolan was happy to report that Warner Bros. is on board with his anti-3D proposal to release the next Batman using HD and IMAX cameras only. The followup to The Dark Knight is expected to hit theatres in 2012.
