Aubrey Plaza (Parks And Rec) stars in The To-Do List as a Type-A, overachiever who comes up with a “to-do list” featuring all the risqué extra-curricular activities she missed out on in high school and wants to complete before college. Before long you will find out what some of these “activities” are in this recently released red-band, laugh out loud trailer. Rachel Bilson, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Scott Porter, Connie Britton, Clark Gregg, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Glover, Johnny Simmons, Sarah Steele, and Alia Shawkat round out the cast. The To-Do List is out August 16.
Before you dive into the trailers, check out these two behind-the-scenes featurettes for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot Man of Steel and Guillermo del Toro’s robots versus monsters action film Pacific Rim. “Our approach was not a comic book Superman; it was just to be a more realistic Superman, a Superman that exists in the real world,” says screenwriter David S. Goyer. The three-and-a-half minute Man of Steel clip includes some never before seen footage and you’ll hear from Goyer as well as Snyder, producer Deborah Snyder, production designer Alex McDowell, actress Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent), Russell Crow (Jor-El), and star Henry Cavill (Clark Kent). Man of Steelopens June 14.

We start with a second trailer for Edgar Wright’s The World’s End, starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Martin Freeman. This international trailer is more encompassing than the previously released clip, outlining the overall plot without missing a step. Anticipation for this action buddy comedy just notched another peg higher. It hits theatres August 23.
I present to you the most well put together trailer of the year so far; here is Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. This is sure to be one gritty and exciting Superman origin story as audiences will get to know the man behind the cape. Out June 14.
First up is Oblivion, the next movie in Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski’s arsenal. It’s superbly sci-fi and with stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, and Melissa Leo at the forefront, it’s shaping up to be an exciting must-see event.
Here’s all we get in a synopsis: “On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.” For more, sit back and mash play.
Oblivion hits theatres April 12, 2013. See a grand poster for it in the gallery below.
As promised, here is the teaser trailer for Zach Snyder’s upcoming Superman movie Man of Steel. But there’s a twist. Warner Bros. has released two trailers today. While the footage in both remains the same, it’s the narration that’s different. Kevin Costner, who plays Clark Kent’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent, shares his wisdom in the clip embedded above; Russell Crowe, who plays Kal-El’s biological father Jor-El, speaks in the teaser posted after the break. If Snyder’s Superman is going to capture our collective imagination and tell a story worth investing in, it must peel back the layer of steel and show the origins of how the man decided to become a superhero.
What these teasers suggested is that Clark (played by Henry Cavill) will have a decision to make: embrace his powers to fend off evildoers or take advantage of them for selfish purposes. Costner as father Kent says, “You have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is, good character or bad, is gonna change the world.” Crowe as Jor-El embues, “You will give the people an ideal to strive towards…In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.” Even as a young boy, having been supplanted from the planet Kypton to Earth, Clark aspires to become something super; he dons a small red cape in his yard as witnessed here. He is destined to grow up and become Superman; what this movie sets out to do is show us how he gets there. And if done right, Synder might just have the next best superhero saga following Nolan’s dissection of The Batman.
Director Zack Snyder and star Henry Cavill took part in the Man of Steel panel at Comic Con last week. There they unveiled footage from the flick as well as the Comic Con branded poster seen above. Snyder says that fans will get a taste of the footage Con attendees were privy to when The Dark Knight Rises hits theatres this Thursday; a teaser trailer for the upcoming Super-Man reboot will play before Christopher Nolan’s anticipated conclusion to his Batman trilogy. The teaser will be uploaded here once it hits the ‘Net.
Snyder and Cavill made it a point to say that their mission with this new Superman is to make him relatable. “How would you feel if you were Superman?” Snyder posed to the excitable crowd.
We’ve already got a look at Henry Cavill as Zack Snyder’s Superman, and now Warner Bros. has unveiled the official ‘S’ shield that will serve as the logo for the upcoming reboot Man of Steel. Just like our previous look at Cavill, the shield that resides on Superman’s chest plate is dark, gritty, and detailed. Though we still don’t have a trailer to lean back on, these “first looks” at Superman and his shield most certainly point to a redefined hero that will tell a dark, stylistic tale that may be reminiscent of what Christopher Nolan is doing with the Batman franchise.
Warner Bros. posted this first image of British actor Henry Cavill as Zack Snyder’s Superman. Right off the bat you can tell it’s a Snyder (300) creation: this bank vault scene is gritty, dark, and highly stylized and the Man of Steel in the middle of it all meets our gaze with a look of, well, pure coolness. Cavill’s muscles protrude out of the blue suit, the “S” is prominent, and the classic slicked back hair would fare well against Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm’s retro look. Jump after the break for a closer view.
The Superman reboot Man of Steel is now in production with a cast consisting of Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, and Julia Ormond. Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) are producing and writing, respectively. Release is June 14, 2013; yup, it got pushed back from a holiday 2012 release.
