After warring with his record label Atlantic Records, rapper Lupe Fiasco has finally managed to release his third studio album LASERS. The 12-track album features singles Words I Never Said and The Show Goes On. iTunes is selling the record for $10.99 and a $13.99 deluxe version which includes “I’m Beamin'”, the Matthew Santos assisted “Shining Down”, and two music videos (“I’m Beamin’” & “The Show Goes On“). John Legend, Trey Songz, and Skylar Grey are among the featured artists.
Five months after Lupe Fiasco announced his new album was complete, Atlantic Records has finally confirmed a release date for the rapper’s oft-delayed third studio album Lasers: March 8, 2011. “The Show Goes On” is the lead single off the record, and the music video for it is embedded above. iTunes download right here. No word whether or not previously released tracks “Shining Down” and “I’m Beamin” will be included on Lasers.
It’s official: Lupe Fiasco’s highly anticipated third studio album LASERS is complete. Lupe shared the news with his fans first via his Twitter account:
Lasers is out of my hands guys and gals…it’s done and that’s all I can tell you…when they drop it…they drop it…so drop it…
Now it’s up to Atlantic Records to announce a release date and it’s golden. According to most sources, there’s no reason why it should not release sometime in this year. While you’re waiting, go give the first two singles off the album a listen here: “I’m Beamin’” & “Shining Down“.
