Arnold Schwarzenegger gets in character for charity leading up to his the release of his new movie Terminator: Genisys. After being transformed in the makeup chair to become his iconic film character The Terminator, Ah-nold takes to Hollywood Boulevard where he interacts with unsuspecting bystanders and even a Terminator street impersonator. The former Governor also visits Madame Tussauds wax museum to prank visitors like a pro. It’s all funny stuff, and it’s for a good cause. He’s promoting his charity After-School All-Stars that benefits after-school programs for kids. Omaze is hosting donations, and you can enter to win a ticket to the Genisys premiere in Los Angeles. Way to go, Schwarzenegger; hearty laughs for a good cause!

Fans vote for their favorite ‘Fringe’ events, grab inspired posters to benefit charity
Do you want to own a piece of Fringe lore before the series comes to its epic conclusion? FOX, Gallery 1988, the Paley Center for Media, and The Mission Continues are teaming up to make that possible. The “Fringe Benefits Project” lets fans of the show vote for their favorite Fringe events and the top five moments will be reimagined by local artists and designers as pieces of art in the form of hand numbered limited edition poster prints. Once the five scenes have been selected, they will be showcased at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles. The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills will also have the artwork on hand beginning January 9. Buy up the fan-made posters and all proceeds will be donated to The Mission Continues, a charity that encourages and aids volunteerism by disabled and wounded veterans.
To vote from 31 of the most memorable Fringe episodes, head over to the Fringe Benefits website. The first poster (pasted above) is already highlighted and it celebrates the complete awesomeness that was the season 2 episode “White Tulip.” The limited copy is yours for $30. Fringedom, have at it.

Flight of the Conchords returns for charity
Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement–the duo that makes up parody folk band Flight of the Conchords–reunited this summer for Red Nose Day 2012 to support Cure Kids, a New Zealand charity whose proceeds fund medical research into life-threatening childhood illnesses. The 14-minute clip starts off like a typical Flight of the Conchords episode that would air on HBO. Band manager Murray Hewitt (Rhys Darby) plays the “present” game with the guys and informs them that they’ve got a new gig to play. After some nostalgic back and forth between the three of them, the bulk of the clip features Bret and Jemaine interviewing schoolchildren from Auckland and Wellington about a range of topics including what it means to be sick and how to raise money. The video concludes with a brand new Conchords track featuring other NZ celebrity voices; the lyrics are born out of the entertaining answers provided by the kids. Bret and Jemaine are known for their comedic timing and keeping a straight face, so when they break out in fits of laughter during the interviews it makes it all the more fun.
Revisiting the band meeting and watching Bret and Jemaine back in full form is such a treat, but let’s not forget why they did it. After watching the video embedded above, purchase the song “Feel Inside (and stuff like that)” at iTunes and .91 cents from the sale of the track will go to the Cure Kids organization. Singing for (RED): The Killers – “Happy Birthday Guadalupe”
This little ditty marks the fourth annual Christmas song The Killers have recorded for (RED) charity. The song features Wild Light and Mariachi El Bronx; the video features Luke Perry (of 90210 fame). It’s available to purchase on iTunes and all proceeds go to the Global Fund.

Microsoft employee bids $35,000 to tour boss’s (Bill Gates’) home
Microsoft holds an annual charity campaign. When fall comes around MS “donates products, services, and experiences” for their elite employees to bid on. It’s a yearly extravaganza when it comes to watching for the highest bid to tour of Bill Gates’ Lake Washington home. Last year the winning bid was a measly $8,600. One lucky Microsoft employee and a few of his friends will be taken on a personal tour of the Gates estate by Bill himself–in exchange for $35,000! MS matches the donation too, so this philanthropic venture is whole-heartedly (very) good in nature.
Oh, what I’d do to go on a personal tour of Bill Gates’ home… I bet there’s all kinds of insanely awesome gadgetry and futuristic, out-of-this-world stuff that would just make my tech heart melt. For some reason I can imagine a Massive Dynamic feel to the place, with Melinda taking the place of Nina Sharp, of course.
Special edition Nike Air Yeezys auctioned for a combined total of $23,900
Nike auctioned two special edition Air Yeezy sneakers. Each of them are one-of-a-kind and were only made available for the sole purpose of the auction.
“One pair features a black leather upper and Jordan VI bottom, the first and only time the shoe will be made available with a Jumpman logo, and the other pair is THE Air Yeezy that Kanye worn on The 50th Annual Grammy Awards.” As cool as these kicks are I cannot see anyone getting tooexcited about wanting to get a sneaker Kanye West wore at an awards show. (Tee-hee…)
However, it’s for a good cause, and they are certainly nice pairs of sneakers that come in equally nice boxes. The auctions ended last night. The Jordan VI-inspired pair sold for $7,400 and the West-worn pair sold for $16,500. DAMN! All proceeds went to the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital that’s located in Portland, Oregon.
