A flight from Sydney to Los Angeles…

Travel site Kayak.com is offering what at first glance looks like standard one-way flight from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles, California.  If you are a Lost fan those particular locations should ring a bell.  If you look further into the flight details, more Lost clues come to the surface.  The airline?  Oceanic Airlines.  Take-off date?  September 22.  Airfare?  $4,815.16.  Taxes and fees?  $23.42.  Flight duration?  10 hours, 8 minutes.  Clearly the site is playing with the Lost numbers that are key to the show’s mythology: 4 8 15 15 23 42 and 108, as well as other show factoids: The Losties crashed on September 22, 2004, on an Oceanic Airlines flight from Sydney to Los Angeles.  So what’s really going on here?

Obviously the people at Kayak.com are Lost fans and couldn’t resist the urge to offer up this flight in anticipation of the final season.  When you actually go to buy a ticket for this flight, the site redirects you to the Lostpedia website, specifically to the Oceanic Flight 815 page.  After some digging, Slashfilm traced it all back to BoingBoing and the Twitter account of a staff writer.  When asked about this easter egg, a Kayak PR rep responded “It’s a mystery,” with a smiley face emoticon.

Rapper is coming to The Cleveland Show as “Kenny West”

The fine folks at EW got an exclusive sneek peek at the upcoming May 2 episode of The Cleveland Show.  In it rapper Kanye West “voices a 19-year-old local hero named, er, Kenny West, who gets into a lopsided rhyme battle with the show’s Cleveland Brown, Jr. over the affections of a young woman who’s voiced by Taraji P. Henson.”  According to show co-creator Rich Appel working with West was an absolute pleasure and he expects Kenny West to “become a recurring character in our universe.”  In fact, they’ve already planned to have West return in a season 2 episode.

The Cleveland Show airs Sundays at 8PM on FOX.

Single: Drake – “Over”

He’s released mixtapes, been featured on many songs, and dropped a seven-track EP called So Far Gone and Drake still hasn’t “officially” made it to the big leagues yet with a debut album under his belt.  Time are a-changin’, and Drake is ready to start his rise to (higher) fame in the music biz.  Late last night Drake posted the first single off his debut album Thank Me Later.  It’s called “Over” and it’s quite good.  It doesn’t compare to the Wayne-Kanye-Eminem featured “Forever” behemoth of a track, but it’s definitely worth a listen (below) and a spot on your playlist (download it for free).  There’s more where this came from; Thank Me Later is due out in May.

‘The Guild’ enters the comic book world

Felicia Day is all over the place these days.  We watched her shine as Penny in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, she was featured in an episode of House last season, and now she’s bringing her award-winning web series The Guild to the comics!
