Movie trailer round-up: ‘Peanuts’ & Disney’s ‘Cinderella’ [Update: ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ inside]

When the first teaser for director Paul Feig’s adaptation of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts landed in March, I was lamenting the fact that his creative team decided to go with CG-animation as opposed to the classic hand-drawn style from the comic strips. But now, the more I watch this new trailer, I’m convinced a fun story can be told through the CG lens. I can appreciate the fact that Feig and co. opted to take Charlie Brown and Snoopy into new territory while still retaining some of the nostalgic squiggly lines there. What do you think?

Peanuts makes its big-screen debut November 6, 2015.

Jump after the break to see the trailer for Kenneth Branagh’s imagining of the Disney classic Cinderella.

It’s more than just a glass slipper. This trailer for Disney’s upcoming live-action Cinderella truly comes alive with color and a score from composer Patrick Doyle that aims to impress. Director Kenneth Branagh seems to be adapting the tale without any major deviations from the classic 1950 animated film. Lily James stars as Ella, with Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden as the Prince, Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother, and Helena Bonham Carter plays the fairy godmother.

See if the slipper fits March 13, 2015.

Update (12/3): Frozen Fever, the in-the-works Frozen short detailed here, will play in front of Disney’s Cinderella in March.

Update (11/20): The Barden Bellas are back! Here’s your first look at the highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 breakout musical comedy Pitch Perfect. Pretty much all of your a cappella favorites are back including Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Skylar Astin, Adam DeVine, and of course Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy. The trailer is pretty fantastic as it reintroduces fans of the original to the ensemble cast with a new a cappella version of Kendrick’s catchy tune “Cups” and sets the stage for some epic musical battles on a bigger, international level. Actress Elizabeth Banks, who served as an executive producer of the original and played competition commentator Gail Abernathy-McKadden, reprises her role and makes her directorial debut.

Pitch Perfect 2 hits theatres May 15, 2015.
