Following this creep-tastic teaser, here’s an extended look at the next horror film from James Wan (Saw, Insidious).

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of how world renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

The Conjuring, starring Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, and Lili Taylor, is out July 19.

This next thriller takes the “home invasion” story and adds an intriguing twist. At some point in the future, unemployment has fallen to one percent and crime has fallen to an all-time low. Why? Because one night a year all crime is legal. “Tonight allows people a release for all the hatred and violence they keep up inside them,” explains star Ethan Hawke. The nation calls it “the purge.” Hawke and his wife played by Lena Hedey keep their family safe every year by securing their high-tech home with sturdy barricades, but this time around their curious son allows a dangerous stranger inside. Watch the crazy unravel in the trailer above.

From producer Jason Blum (Paranormal ActivityInsidious) and director James DeMonaco, The Purge releases May 31.
