Here we have trailer numero dos for Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me 2. In it the minions are as entertaining as ever, and we get a better sense of what Steve Carrell’s Gru is up to this time around. The all-star voice cast lineup also includes Kristen Wiig, Al Pacino, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Steve Coogan, and Ken Jeong. The animated flick is set to open July 3. As promised, here’s a clip of the “Despicablimp.” The Minion-ized blimp measures at 165 feet long, 55 feet high, and 46 feet wide and will travel coast-to-coast promoting the film’s summer release. You can follow its trajectory here, if you’re so inclined.
Here’s a brand spankin’ new international trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness. It puts the spotlight on the film’s villain known only to the public as “John Harrison,” played by the incomparable Benedict Cumberbatch. Packed inside the new footage are more explosions and some very tense moments. The Star Trek sequel hits theatres May 17.
Universal Pictures is readying a third installment of the sci-fi action franchise starring Vin Diesel’s Riddick that originated in 2000’s Pitch Black. David Twohy, writer and director of Pitch Black and the 2004 sequel The Chronicle’s of Riddick, is back at the helm with a pen for the next film simply titled Riddick. Karl Urban reprises his role as Lord Vaako from the second movie and Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff joins the cast. The teasiest of teasers was uploaded to the ‘Net this week (the clip only clocks in at a mere 22 seconds), but fans can expect to see more soon as the film is set to release September 6. A brief synopsis reads:
Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick’s past.
