There’s TV and then there’s the Internet. The two make quite the couple. Here are some fascinating offspring I’ve hand-picked for your viewing pleasure.
The first two videos come from the world of Breaking Bad. Hanging above is “Breaking Bad: The Middle School Musical” starring kids cooking meth blue rock candy. Yes, it is twisted and it is also brilliant and hilarious. It also does a pretty great job at summing up seasons one through five so spoiler freaks beware.
Click after the break for more.
This Breaking Bad animated clip is born out of a scene featured in the show’s season 5B premiere “Blood Money” which aired just last Sunday. It’s the one where Jesse Pinkman’s pals Badger and Skinny Pete are discussing a Star Trek script imagined by Badger and it involves pies and the transporter. Fans of the show will likely scan this lengthy scene for years to come combing it for potential foreshadowing; but series creator Vince Gilligan has said before that he likes to thrown comedy into his dark drama as much as he can so if you can just try to enjoy this hilarious bit of Trek fan fic animated for Vulture by Matt Czap.
The next batch of parodies play off of everybody’s favorite back-from-the-dead cult comedy Arrested Development. YouTuber Brian Anderson has envisioned Arrested as a video game he calls “Bluthfighter.” In it you can control characters like G.O.B., Tobias, Tony Wonder, and Carl Weathers whose special powers include Segway attacks, splashing blue paint, magic, and a “Baby you got a stew cooking” combo, respectively. Unfortunately the Mortal Kombat inspired game starring Bluths & friends isn’t playable but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy its ingenuity and complete attention to detail. Previously, Anderson cooked up a Breaking Bad video game as well and you can watch that here.
From the mind of another talented YouTuber Leigh Lahav comes “Thorested Development.” Now the story of a thunder god who lost everything, and the one brother who has no choice but to help him out. It’s Thorested Development. It’s short, but sweet; hopefully there’s more where this came from.
Finally, here’s an oldie but a goodie. From the YouTube channel that brought us bad lip-reading of Twilight comes an installment that takes on AMC’s zombie drama The Walking Dead. Dubbed scenes span across all three seasons. It’s a riot. By the end you’ll surely be singing along la-bibbida-bibba-dum la-bibbida–bibba-do; you’ll see!
